Ya lo comentó tras proclamarse campeón del IDM Superbike, hace apenas 15 días. Para Xavi Forés, la carrera del Mundial SBK en Magny Cours es un «regalo» por su victoria en el IDM: “Llega el fin de semana más esperado. Estar en el Mundial de SBK en Magny Cours me hace muchísima ilusión. Es un premio merecido a nuestro trabajo en el IDM y creo que lo voy a disfrutar al máximo. Es la filosofía que tengo que seguir, sin presión, disfrutando y cogiendo mucha experiencia de los pilotos mundialistas. Así creo que saldrán los resultados. Magny Cours es un circuito que me gusta y la moto la probé la semana pasada en un test muy positivo en Mugello. Espero hacer un buen papel”.

El viernes saldrá por primera vez a pista a las 11’45h para hacer el primer entrenamiento libre, a las 15’30h, el segundo, y ya el sábado los dos libres (09’45h y 12’30h), la Superpole 1 (15’00h) y la Superpole 2 (15’25h). El domingo la primera carrera está programada para las 10’30h y la segunda para las 13’10h.

Magny Cours es, efectivamente, un premimo al trabajo bien hecho. Desde la victoria en el CEV Repsol, los éxitos han sido constantes, culminando con la proclamación como campeón del IDM. «(El IDM) me gustó mucho desde el principio», explica. «Era un proyecto que venía directamente de fábrica Ducati y yo quería una estabilidad que en ese momento me hacía mucha falta. Me lo estuve pensando durante unos días pero pronto entendí que era la mejor opción y la más justa». Y una vez sumado al equipo, Xavi asegura haberse sentido «muy valorado durante todo el año. El equipo y Ducati han confiado muchísimo en mí y eso te hace crecer como persona y como piloto, siempre sales a dar el 100% para demostrar que no se han equivocado contigo».

En cuanto a los planes de futuro, aún es pronto para hablar del 2015, pero la intención de Forés es seguir vinculado a Ducati y al 3C Racing Team. «Evidentemente todos queremos estar en SBK pero, lo primordial para mi es estar en un sitio estable, sin preocupaciones de nada y teniendo el mejor material para estar lo más arriba.»After winning the Superbike IDM, just 15 days ago, Xavi Fores said that World SBK race at Magny Cours is a «gift» for his victory in the IDM: «Being in the World Superbike Championship at Magny Cours makes me really happy. The first free practice will take place Friday at 11’45h and the second one will take place at 15’30h; then, two free practice for Saturday (at 09’45h and 12’30h respectively) and Superpole 1 will take place at 15’00h and Superpole 2 at 15’25h. On Sunday the races are scheduled for 10’30h and 13’10h.

Magny Cours is indeed a prize for a well-done job, starting at the victory in the Repsol CEV and finishing with his proclamation as IDM champion. «(The IDM) liked me from the beginning,» explains Xavi. «It was a project that came directly from factory Ducati and I wanted stability at that time. That was what I need most. I thought about it a few days, but soon I realized it was the best option and the fairest. «And once he joined the team, Xavi claims to have felt «highly valued». «The Ducati team has relied a lot on me and that makes you grow as a person and as a driver, you always come to give 100% because you want to show them that they were not wrong about you.»

As for future plans, it is early to talk about 2015, but Forés’ intention is to stay at 3C Racing Team and Ducati. «Obviously we all want to be in SBK but, for me, most important that that is to be in a stable place, with no worries about anything and the best material for me.»
