Xavi Forés estará de nuevo en el IDM Superbike en 2015 con el 3C Ducati Corse, un equipo que, según el piloto, «me ha hecho crecer a nivel profesional. Han sido dos meses largos de trabajo y de reunirse para sacar lo mejor para mí personalmente. Estaba ansioso por tener mi futuro claro y por fin, puedo empezar a entrenar y trabajar teniendo las ideas claras.»
La decisión se ha hecho esperar para Xavi, que ha rubricado este 2014 una temporada impresionante, culminada con la victoria en el IDM alemán. «Ha sido un año muy positivo para mí», explica. «He aprendido mucho en todos los aspectos. Tenía dudas al principio pero he conseguido otro reto de los que me propuse y eso es muy gratificante. Pienso que si no estás en el Mundial, tienes que saber buscarte un sitio
donde se valore el trabajo y donde puedas ser competitivo, además de que siempre se quieren nuevos retos.»
Además de repetir en el IDM, Forés será piloto probador de Ducati, haciendo el desarrollo de la Panigale para Ducati Corse, y estará presente en cuatro pruebas del Campeonato del Mundo de SBK: Assen, Jerez, Magny Cours y Qatar, según las previsiones.
No son pocas las voces que demandan para Xavi Forés un sitio ya en el Mundial. «Creo que ahora estoy en un nivel que teniendo la estabilidad y la oportunidad de estar un año entero, puedo hacer grandes resultados. Es duro ver cómo llegan todos y tú sigues luchando cada año por ello y no acaba de salir… pero me siento privilegiado por tener lo que tengo y ser capaz de ganarme la vida en un deporte en el que las cosas no son precisamente fáciles». De hecho, Xavi ha tenido varias ofertas para el Mundial de SBK, «pero todas requerían aportar sponsor o ir a coste cero. Esto lo considero un trabajo como el que va cada día a la oficina. Si no hay un sueldo, nadie trabaja. Nos jugamos demasiado encima de una
moto como para no ser compensados. Por eso me incliné por renovar con mi equipo actual.»
Para el 2015, el reto es, como mínimo, la igualada: «Repetir los resultados de este año sería genial. Sé que va a ser difícil porque el nivel siempre va subiendo pero creo que seremos capaces de estar luchando de nuevo por el Campeonato.»

The decision hasbeen a long time coming for Xavi, who has signed an impressive 2014 season, like winning the German IDM. «It has been a very positive year for me,» he says. «I have learned a lot. I was reluctant at first but I got another challenge that I had set and that is rewarding. I believe that, if you’re not in the World Cup, you have to find a place in which your work is valued and you can be competitive».
In addition to repeating the IDM, Forés will be a Ducati test rider, and will make the development of the Panigale Ducati Corse in four rounds of the World Championship SBK: Assen, Jerez, Magny Cours and Qatar, according to forecasts.
Some voices demand for Xavi Fores a place in the World Championship. «Now, having the stability and the opportunity to spend a whole year, I can do great results. It is hard to see how some pilots get to the World Championship and you keep fighting year after year for it… but I feel I am privileged to have what I have and to make a living in a sport where things are not exactly easy «. Indeed, Xavi has had several offers to the World SBK, «but all of them required a sponsor or work at zero cost, and I consider this as a job, like going to the office every day. If there is no salary, no one works. The stakes are too high for us, the pilots, and we must to be compensated. So I decided to renew my current team.»
As for 2015, «repeat the results of this year would be great. I know it will be difficult because the level is higher and higher but I think we’ll be able to fight again for the championship. »
