Faltan sólo unos días para la cita más importante del año para el equipo de triatlón de Kuwait, que ya está entrenando en Incheon para participar en los Juegos de Asia.
Alrededor de 9.500 atletas de los 45 Estados miembros de la OCA participarán en esta edición, en 36 deportes. En total, 439 medallas están en juego. Incheon es la tercera ciudad de Corea del Sur en ser sede de los Juegos, después de Seúl y Busan. Para Kuwait, esta va a ser la primera vez que el país va a participar en los Juegos en la disciplina de triatlón, en donde esperamos hacer un buen papel.
Durante el mes de Agosto nos concentramos en el CARD de Sierra Nevada con el objetivo de entrenar lo máximo posible y obtener los beneficios del entrenamiento en altura. Entrenamos una media de 7 horas diarias, repartidas en 3-4 sesiones, con solo 3 días de descanso. Entre todos los entrenamientos que realizamos, incidimos mucho en el entrenamiento técnico del segmento ciclista.
El 25 arrancamos con la vista puesta en dar lo mejor en los Juegos de Asia.
El pasado viernes estuvimos en la ceremonia de apertura. Najla y Nada fueron las únicas chicas de Kuwait que desfilaron, junto a los 253 atletas que participarán en total (aproximadamente la mitad que India, la mayor de la historia para Kuwait). El montaje fue espectacular, comenzando por la actuación de Psy con su hit Gangnam Style, y el resto de artistas que, bajo el lema “One Asia” querían simbolizar la diversidad de las culturas asiáticas.

Last August we did a training camp at High Altitude Training Center of Sierra Nevada, Spain (CARD). We decided to train there in order to get the benefits of the high altitude training. Moreover, the place allows us to train an average of 8h every day. We trained all the disciplines but we did emphasized on bike skill training as well.
25 september starts competition in triathlon.
Last Friday we were at the opening ceremony. Najla and Nada were the only girls in Kuwait team, which consisted of 253 athletes (the largest ever). This opening ceremony stresses the theme “One Asia” where most of the performances bring together the diversity of Asian cultures, including Psy and his «Gangnam Style».
